KATE DIAZ is an LA-based composer-producer who has been a performing songwriter for over a decade.
As a composer, Kate writes and produces music for commercials, podcasts, films, and TV. She recently finished scoring a feature-length documentary, and she is currently co-scoring an upcoming animated TV series, as well as a new docu-series.
A multi-instrumentalist, Kate self-produces her scores and songs, playing all instruments and recording/mixing all tracks.
Originally from a suburb of Chicago, Kate is endorsed by Godin Guitars and has played 300+ shows at venues across the country, including at national festivals and as a guest performer of national headliners. Reviewers describe her as an "accomplished guitar player" with "an astonishing voice" whose songs have "clever lyrical content" and "natural rhythmic flow." Her fifth pop/rock album "Take 8" is currently available on all streaming services, and her sixth album is coming fall 2020.
Kate moved to LA in July 2019 after graduating from Harvard College magna cum laude in the Social Studies honors program. She wrote her senior thesis about how film scores amplify social meanings in American films. While attending Harvard, Kate also graduated summa cum laude from Berklee College of Music in 2017, as a guitar principal and Contemporary Writing & Production major.
